Listowel Fire Station

Welcome to the Listowel Fire Station for the Kerry Fire and Rescue Service located on Courthouse Lawn, with direct access to the John B. Keane Road. Listowel is located in North Kerry on the banks of the River Feale. Described as the 'Literary Capital of Ireland', Listowel has produced an abundance of world famous writers including John B. Keane and Bryan MacMahon, giving it a uniqueness not to be found in any other part of Ireland. Listowel is home to Writers' Week, the annual Literary Festival held in June, the famous Listowel Horse-Racing Festival held in September and Listowel Food Fair held in November. The Listowel Fire Station is a two pump station and is the third busiest station in the county. It includes within its catchment area large, high risk premises such as Kerry Ingredients, the Tarbert Power Station and N.O.R.A., the National Oil Reserves Agency. The station crew also attend to road traffic areas along the busy roads which link Listowel with Tralee and the rest of North Kerry. The Station Officer is Paul O’Sullivan, who is assisted by sub station officers Ned Keane and Liam Enright. They are in the process of obtaining a new purpose built water tanker and have recently acquired a new Ford Ranger jeep with the capacity to carry 5 fire fighting personnel.
